Chapter - Houston County High School

In the past three years, several teachers and students at Houston County High School have been affected by cancer, prompting the creation of the “Tackle Cancer Together” campaign. The project aimed to raise cancer awareness by working with groups like Art Honor Society, Beta Club, and National Honor Society to create informative posters displayed throughout the school. Students also shared resources for local cancer support organizations, such as Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Jay’s Hats for Hope. Additionally, FCCLA members sold beaded necklaces for a Gold Out Game (Childhood Cancer Awareness) and Pink Out Game (Breast Cancer Awareness), raising over $500. This campaign united the school community to support cancer warriors and spread awareness.
