No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!

Officers Megan Bearden and Shelby Martin are hosting a bed build for Sleep in Heavenly Peace

for the 2024-2025 school year. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is an organization that builds beds for

kids who do not have them due to unforeseen circumstances. Shelby and Megan have teamed up

with this organization to help ensure no kid sleeps on the floor in Dawson County. They have

also been actively trying to get donations to help the organization. They have been able to get 10

twin mattresses donated by a local mattress store and are planning a build day at Dawson County

High School. The build day will be in April 2025. A local building supply will donate most if not

all of the materials needed for the build day. Students and businesses in Dawson will be helping

build 40 beds for children in Dawson and surrounding areas who need a bed to keep them from

sleeping on the floor. They have bedding donation boxes at 5 of the Dawson Schools locations as

well as some of the businesses in the community.
