Are You Going to Drink That?

chapter -  R.W. Johnson High School

Every day, at our school, the amount of juice and milk that is thrown away at the end of breakfast is overwhelming.  Later in the day, we often wish we had that juice/milk back. In order to better use the resources that our cafeteria has, we placed a cart near the trash cans, to collect the unwanted beverages. Our 1st period E.C.E. class rolls the cart back to our room at the end of the "rush" each morning and puts it in the refrigerator. We rotate the beverages and check the expiration dates every week. From here it is accessible to students all day. This year we have supplied juice for football practice, band practice, after-school club meetings, special needs classrooms, and the children in the Parent's Night childcare program. It's been a great program! #region2
