One Night to Promote Kitchen Literacy and Engagement

Chapter - Toombs County High School

The Toombs County High School FCCLA chapter recently took part in Title 1 Night at a local middle school, emphasizing the importance of involving children in the kitchen. By encouraging cooking, we aim to enhance literacy and vocabulary skills while promoting meaningful parent-child engagement. Parents received resources to help transform the kitchen into a space for learning and bonding, highlighting how family involvement contributes to student success. Attendees also enjoyed a simple, easy-to-make snack—DIY trail mix—demonstrating how fun cooking at home can be.
